- Temple of the “Ninth Emperor God”, Butterworth
Every ninth month of the Chinese Lunar Calender the annual Nine Emperor Gods festival is celebrated here, during which this temple is decorated elaborately. With its beautiful architecture, the temple stands in a class by itself.
- Snake Temple, Bayan Lepas
This temple was built in memory of a Chinese monk. It is famous for its ‘pit vipers’ located on the temple premises. According to legend, it is believed that the monk had given shelter to the snakes of the jungle. However, the population of the snakes is quite a bit less nowadays due to the urbanization of the local area.
- Penang Hill
This location has the best view of the city of George Town and you must see the sights here during your visit to Penang.There is a fun train service that you can take to reach the top. The top is comparatively cooler than the lower lying areas which mostly experiences a normal coastal climate.
