A Plantation So Beautiful and Magnificent

Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens in Charleston happens to be one of the oldest working plantations in America. No wonder this place is always buzzing with tourists and it is the most photographed place in Charleston. Way back in 1743, the son of Major John Boone had planted live oak trees in evenly spaced rows on the plantation and today these oaks trees serve as picturesque path leading to the plantations.

This plantation was originally conceived with the idea of producing cotton and pecans but today it grows a large number of edibles from strawberries, tomatoes and other fruits as well as many vegetables. Now tourists can take a plantation coach tour and learn a little bit about the history of slavery. Don’t forget to visit the Butterfly Pavilion to see hundreds of species of butterflies, some of which have never been seen before.
